This site stays honest only if people who know the village write back. You do not need academic prose. You need names, places, years, and permission.
What to send
- Family vanshavali pages (scan or photograph), with a note on which mool, gotra, mukh, and gharana you claim.
- Named migrants to Rangoon or Indian cities, with approximate years.
- Photographs of fields, streets, schools, panchayat, shrines — with date and who may be shown.
- How livelihoods look now: crops, shops, teaching, Gulf or metro work.
- Corrections to census interpretation or spelling (Katiyari / Katiari / Katiyar).
Privacy
Do not send Aadhaar, account numbers, or minors’ full school records. Living generations appear on this website only with explicit consent. Dead ancestors may still deserve family discussion before a public tree is published.
How
Email archive@katiyari.in with the subject line Katiyari archive. Say whether the material may be published, quoted, or kept private for later verification. Hindi or English is equally welcome.
Until that inbox is fully staffed, keep a copy of what you send. The maintainers will log received items on the sources page as the collection grows.
